Hello Mr Upton
I will understand if you don’t want to answer this but...........what does one expect to pay for a slab of ‘ready to be carved’ spruce for the bass top. Do you know any fairly priced sites? I have been looking around and can’t seem to find anything that feels right. Also i have read that your laminate bass is entirely Poplar ply......how many ply’s does it have? And are they all Poplar? Sorry if this seems silly. |

provided you dont live in a dessert check locally! I looked on craigslist and there was abunch of cabinet builders etc that do everything to do with wood but sell it Way cheaper then online. I bought a nice big piece of maple for a neck through bass for 15 bucks, a internet site like st** mac get 100 for a standard guitar size. the shitty part about the price of wood that you wouldnt believe is Im a tree trimmer and we cut down all sorts of amazing trees and only sell it for firewood!? it bothers me to see curly maple go to fire wood but seasoning it without it cecking is very hard. Ive saved tons of wood for instruments but it never has dryd right. I guess the second half of my reply is irrelevant.....
