Default sticky hands

Ok, we all know that sticky right hand fingers help grab the strings and slap when we are playing. Usually sweat or moisture take care of this, but last night I played a place that was pretty cool and could never work up a sweat, therefore having a lot of trouble getting a lot of good whop on the strings.

My question is: any one got any remedies to get ur fingers a little stickier ? Saliva obviously only works for a little bit and I've heard of gorilla snot, but that stuff never comes off!!!!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks
Bigsnak

Big gloop of Murrays from running your hands through your hair. Works a treat ;)

That sounds like something that would work. Extra hold hair gel works great. Also been using a little tin of Carmax that seems to help long enough until I work up a bit of sweat on that hand.

I would also think some kind of natural wax that you can need in your hand. I also have some of the blue 'Fun Tak' putty, like for putting posters on the wall. If you roll it in your hand a bit the light adhesives in it tend to rub off onto the hand to make it slightly tacky.

I wear sweatbands on my wrists so I don't touch my head or hair with my hands and bring a towel to dry my hands and bass neck if I drink in between.. my hands need to be as dry as possible..

I use Gorilla Snot on rare occasions that my fingers are too dry. I always have it with me. I don't have any buildup at all. It seems to wear off after half of a set.

I usually worry about stickiness when playing the ho' bass so I fall back on Jaco's fried chicken grease solution... glad I don't slap the double... just another thing to worry about.
